Cases and Class Actions » Naomi Yamamoto v. Unionbancal Corporation
A proposed class-action lawsuit has been filed by current employee Naomi Yamamoto ("Plaintiff") against UNIONBANCAL CORPORATION, doing business as Union Bank, on behalf of bank workers holding such titles as Credit Officer, Credit Analyst, Auditor or who performed similar work to those holding such titles while employed in the State of California for Union Bank at any time since May 8, 2006. The case is entitled Naomi Yamamoto v. Unionbancal Corporation, dba Union Bank Case No. CGC-10-499595 (San Francisco Superior Court).
In this lawsuit, filed on behalf of herself and all others similarly situated, Plaintiff Yamamoto contends that Union Bank did not comply with the requirements under California law for payment of wages. If successful, a class action allows former and current employees to receive back wages that are owed to them.
The court has not yet ruled on any of Plaintiff's allegations or determined whether the case is appropriate for class action status.
